HEAVY PROG - GIANT STEP - Giant on the Move! - 1976

Pérola vinda da Indonésia, formada em 1974 em Bandung, por Benny Soebardja e outros ex-membros do Shark Move após o fim do grupo. O Giant Step foi uma banda importante no rock local da época, lançando 5 álbuns. Após várias mudanças de formação no final dos anos 70, eles continuaram com novos membros até os anos 90, mas com som mais próximo do pop rock.
Posto aqui o debut "Giant on the Move!", lançado em 1976 e composto por 9 faixas, maioria longas. Trazem um ótimo rock progressivo com influências que variam de hard ao sinfônico, lembrando grandes nomes do heavy prog britânico da época. O revezamento afinado e "nervoso" de órgão com guitarra dominam o instrumental, contando ainda com sintetizadores e flauta. As letras são todas em inglês, com fortes vocais de Soebardja. Destaque, naturalmente, para as músicas mais longas e melhores trabalhadas.
Pérola altamente recomendada para fãs de hard rock/ progressivo.

Giant Step was an important local rock band important coming from Indonesia, formed in 1974 in Bandung, by Benny Soebardja and other former members of the Shark Move after the end of the group. They relesead five albums, after several lineup changes in the late 70s, they continued with new members until 90s.
Post here the debut "Giant on the Move!" Released in 1976 and consists of 9 tracks, most long. Bring a great progressive rock with influences from symphonic to hard rock, remembering of great British heavy prog groups. The tuned and "nervous" relay of organ with guitar dominate the instrumental, still relying on synthesizers and flute. The lyrics are all in English, with strong Soebardja's vocals. The longer songs and the best. Highly recommended for fans of hard prog rock.
